~ Awakening of the Arch-Lich ~

A lich awakens a cemetary

This is my favorite mythological creature, if you want to call it that. The lich is capable of living forever if it's phylactery remains. The phylactery in ancient judaism is a leather box with scriptures in it. The Lich's phylactery however contains it's soul, and unless the phylactery is found and destroyed, the Lich can come back to life 1-10 days after it's been killed. Most Necromancer's ultimate goal is to become a lich, however one must become what he controls first, an undead. A choice for anyone seeking partial immortality. The Lich is also capable of retaining the powers it had in life, and since most Liches were necromancers or clerics they are able to control the undead or bring back the dead to be their servants. Liches often get bored with their immortality.
